Quick Search Hints

A Quick Search is the fastest and easiest way to find what you are looking for in the Saskatchewan Sampler Database of books. It can be used to search for any books by title, author(s)' names, publisher, date of publication, location, subjects, notes, and ISBN.

  Close Window

To start a search, close this window, and enter one or more words, separated by spaces, in the text area beside "Quick Search". Capitalization does not matter. See below for sample searches.

For the best results using the Quick Search feature:

  • Enter between 1–5 words that are directly related to your topic.
  • Words that occurr too frequently (the, in, a, to, etc) will be ignored. You can use them in your search.
  • More words increase the number of results returned, and will often return more accurate results. Too many words may result in confusing results.
  • Fewer words decrease the number of relevant results returned. If you use too few words, you may not find what you are looking for.

Ranges of Dates

The Quick Search understands ranges of dates. You can use this unique feature to find books within or about a certain time period, by specifying a range of years like 1955-1965. For example, many historical books simply have "the '60s" in their title. Our search is smart enough to know that half of "the '60s" happened between 1955 and 1965.

Being this logical takes time. Please allow for a few seconds to search for some ranges of dates.
